Blah about blogging...

Yes, still! There's so much going on IRL, so that's got a lot to do with it. And just what is going on in my life, you ask? Grab a drink and sit back. This might be long.

I seem to remember that there was an Atlanta trip that I haven't told you all about. We left Friday(the 6th) and got into Marietta around 5 p.m. where we stopped and had dinner at the Marietta Diner. Food was good, but the portions were out of control. We doggy-bagged over half our dinners and split a piece of strawberry cheesecake - which was equally out of control portion-wise. Made it to our hotel by 7:30 and decided to stay in and have a little adult fun. *wink* That was then followed by digging into our leftovers from the diner. Heh.

Saturday started with more adult fun and then was filled with tours of CNN, Coca-Cola, and Oakland Cemetery. We ate lunch at Don Juan Mexican Cantina in the food court inside CNN Center. After the food fest from the night before, I decided not to have a margarita. Shocking, I know. After our tours and walking around holding hands through Centennial Olympic Park, we decided to go shopping at Lenox Square Mall(LSM). Never again. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE to shop. BUT. And you knew there would be a but. But, LSM is just not my kind of place to shop. It's too much. My poor mind was reeling from the crowd of people. I like shopping at places where I can take my time and look and browse. I like places where there's not 30 people looking through the same small rack of skirts. I like places where I can shop in a nice, casual outfit and not feel sorely underdressed. Yeah, LSM is a tad bit too upscale for me. So, after telling Hubman that I just wasn't enjoying this place, he suggests the Old Navy(ON) we saw half a mile down the road. I couldn't find the exit fast enough! After ON, we went back to the hotel to decompress and change for dinner. I ended up wearing a little black dress Hubman bought me instead of the one I showed you all that I got from ON. And I didn't get pics. I know. I suck. We went to Olive Garden for dinner. Back to the hotel. Change of clothes again - ON dress this time. Went out for some more fun. Didn't get to bed until 2 a.m. More adult fun and then, some much needed sleep.

Sunday, we checked out at 11(after even more adult fun) and headed straight for the Varsity for lunch. I had a naked dog, small fry, and small frosted orange. It hit the spot. Hey, I'm easy to please. HA! We then went to Discover Mills Mall(DMM). This mall more than made up for the awfulness of LSM. It's big. It's got my kind of shops. Can we all say together, 'Outlet shopping rocks!' We made a hefty contribution towards the economic recovery at DMM. Just saying.

And that was our Atlanta trip. I had such a great time. Can't wait to go back and do it all again. ;)

I've got some great Ames news. She is now employed! My SIL works at WalMart and she let Ames know that WM was doing their seasonal hiring last week. They snapped her up quick like. With her work ethic and as smart as she is, I hope they decide to keep her until she can find a job in finance. Or until something better comes along. Her MTSU graduation announcements came in. I almost can't believe this is it. December 19th is fast approaching. So proud of her!

I've got some great Ash news too. Her and The Guy(Q) have decided to move in together. I'm thinking they're getting pretty serious. Heh. Q and Ash worked together for a couple years at the movie theater and he always had a thing for her. Ash, of course, was oblivious. I haven't seen the house yet, but from what Ash has told me, it's really nice. I won't go into what has happened in Ash's past, but she deserves happiness with a guy who truly loves her. I wish her nothing but love, happiness, and laughter. Treat my Ash right, Q.

What is it with kids when they find out you're scared of something? David knows I'm a scaredy cat when it comes to snakes. So what does he do? For the past 3 weeks, he gets a library book all about certain snakes - boas, vipers, king snakes. He thinks it's super funny to open these books to a close up of said snakes and chase me through the house. Not funny. I do NOT want to find out which book he comes home with today. *shiver* Of course, I'm the one he comes to this weekend when he needs help on his Science project(forest habitat) and his Bear Scout soap carving. Maybe I should have made a deal with him? Eh, hindsight...

I've been doing 'meh' on the weight loss front. Yeah, still. Told Hubman last night that I was sick and tired of seeing the scale go in the wrong direction. So he said he'd help me out any way he could. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Sometimes it's hard for me to admit that I need help - especially from those closest to me. Kind of like admitting defeat and needing to be rescued. Damn pride! I've been reading a lot of blogs lately where people have had to jump back on the wagon/renew their weight loss promise to themselves. Well, today is my day. This morning started out strong with a good work out and an equally good breakfast. I can NOT eat a carbilicious breakfast. That will derail me faster than anything. I kept my carbs under 38g for breakfast and my protein intake was slightly higher. That seems to work great for me and what I'll be shooting for the rest of the week to see how it goes. So far, no hunger and it's almost lunch time. Yay!

Some pics from Atlanta:

Somebody's watching you in the Oakland Cemetery.

Yay for the update (finally)! Glad you had a good time.

That's also good news about your kids. By the way, does your son have a phobia? I used to be extremely afraid of spiders, and knowing how crappy that was kept me from being jerks to other people about their phobias (even though I think snakes are super cool). Maybe if he had one he wouldn't be doing that.

Sounds like things are busy for you, for sure. Lots of good things.

Hope you stayed on track today. I was just thinking about you, so I am glad you posted.

I am back bi-atch! And your trip to Atl does sound like fun. And I am with you on the snakes. Hate-em.

So until I leave again in about a week, I can yell some words of encouragement right? Let's take this hill!
